The beach at Gualala Regional Park is just a 15 minute walk from the front door and you're at the bluff trail in five. This gorgeously appointed home is dog friendly, spotless, with a secure courtyard, modern furnishings, organic bedding, a chef's kitchen with all the modern appliances, and high speed fiber optic wifi. With three decks with ocean views and a gas-fired BBQ grill, the house is only a three mile drive to Gualala shops and grocery stores. Bring your binoculars for great birding along the trails and Gualala River. Heron House is a refreshing refuge to get away from it all, but when you’re ready to explore the local community, check out the Gualala Arts Center for information about the Sonoma-Mendocino Coast Whale & Jazz Festival in April, live music events and in May, a Mother’s Day concert and the Annual Fine Arts Fair. The home is designed with a reverse floor plan on two levels. Walk in the ground floor from the attached garage with your luggage for handy delivery to the two full en suite bedrooms. Each ground level bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, high quality bedding, TV, end tables and reading lamps, and smartly designed closet space. The master bedroom's sitting area is filled with afternoon light. Comfy seating allows for reading or reflection. Access either the south ground level deck or the inner secure courtyard and cedar hot tub from this bedroom. Bathrooms have showers with pull down teak benches and are stocked with plenty of towels. Laundry area with full size washer / dryer is located in the garage where there is plenty of room to store your bikes for an afternoon ride.
Walk up a few steps to the landing for a view of the courtyard, bird feeder and the northern boundary of the Sea Ranch, bordering Gualala Point Regional Park. Continue up the stairs to the great room where the spotless and modern kitchen awaits. The large counter, bar stools, wine chiller and well stocked cabinets make for fun group cooking. Appliances include a slow cooker, food processor, toaster, microwave, blender, hand blender, Nespresso machine, 8-cup coffee maker, coffee grinder, tea kettle and coffee press. Pots and pans, baking equipment and pantry staples are on hand.
The living room features comfy leather seating and ocean views. Watch out the living room or kitchen windows for the great blue heron who regularly visits the good hunting grounds of the commons and the golf course. There is a dining table for six with a remote controlled gas fireplace. Games, cards, books, magazines and DVDs are available. There is a Sonos player in the living room--download the free app to play your own music or free channels. Off the dining area is an elevated deck with a double chaise, Adirondack chair and ocean views.
The south facing deck has ocean views and seating for four at the bar height teak table with an umbrella for those sunny days, and a barbecue grill with a fixed propane line, so no canisters to worry about refilling. The third bedroom, also on the upper level, doubles as the media room with a large screen HD TV and satellite TV to choose from, or stream from your favorite apps. A brand new sofa sectional opens to a pull out bed, best for children or short adults. A half bath is located next to this room.
Housekeeping service is available during extended stays, a handyman service is available 24/7 for emergencies and there is regular professional upkeep of the hot tub.
About The Sea Ranch: The Sea Ranch (TSR) is a planned community located along a ten mile stretch of the striking Northern California coast ending at the northern border of Sonoma County. The Heron House is located at the northernmost border of TSR boundary, just south of Gualala Point Regional Park where the Gualala River empties into the ocean. The Heron House is conveniently located to the Town of Gualala which is just across the River in Mendocino County.
